Our streamlined 5-step admission process is designed to be simple, transparent, and fair. From your initial enquiry to stepping onto campus as a cadet, we guide you every step of the way. New batches commence every 2 months throughout the year.
Contact us via phone, WhatsApp, email, or visit any of our offices (Jaipur, Mumbai, Gurugram, or Bawal campus). Our trained admissions counsellors will explain the programme in detail, discuss your career aspirations, assess your eligibility, answer all your questions, and guide your parents through the programme structure, fees, placement process, and career prospects. Counselling is completely free and non-obligatory. We encourage parents and guardians to participate in the counselling session — either in person, over phone, or via video call. Counselling is available in Hindi, English, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, and Telugu.
Submit your application online through our website or offline at any HBIMS office. The application form requires basic personal details, educational qualifications, and document uploads (Aadhaar, 10th marksheet, photographs). A non-refundable registration fee is applicable. After application, you will be scheduled for the MNAT — Maritime National Aptitude Test. The MNAT is a simple assessment covering general awareness, basic English comprehension, logical reasoning, and aptitude. It is designed to evaluate your potential, not your existing knowledge. The test can be taken online (from home) or at any HBIMS office. There is no pass/fail — the MNAT helps us understand your starting level so we can customise your training accordingly.
Upon successful evaluation, you will receive an official Offer Letter via email and WhatsApp, detailing your batch assignment, programme fees, payment schedule (full payment or instalment options), reporting date, and a checklist of documents to bring. Fee payment can be made via bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS), UPI, cheque, or demand draft. Official fee receipts are issued for every payment. Upon payment of the first instalment (or full fee), your seat is confirmed and you receive a Confirmation Letter with your Cadet ID number and a Welcome Kit with campus joining instructions.
Before or on the reporting date, you will undergo a pre-sea medical examination conducted by a DG Shipping-approved medical officer. This covers visual acuity (6/6 required), colour vision (Ishihara test), hearing test, physical examination, blood tests, chest X-ray, ECG, and general fitness assessment. Simultaneously, our admissions team will verify all original documents (10th marksheet, Aadhaar, photographs, certificates). Cadets who are medically fit and have complete documentation proceed to the next step. Cadets found medically unfit are eligible for refund as per our Refund Policy.
On the batch reporting date, cadets arrive at the HBIMS Campus (105 Mile Stone, NH-8, Bawal, Haryana). You will be issued your complete training kit (uniforms, books, safety equipment — 31 items), assigned your hostel room, and given a campus orientation tour. You will sign the Enrolment Agreement, Code of Conduct acknowledgement, Anti-Ragging Undertaking, and parent/guardian consent forms. Your Sponsorship Letter from a shipping company is issued on Day 1. Training begins the next morning at 0600 hours. Welcome to your new life as a seafarer!
