6 Months Residential

Seafarer Development Programme (SDP)TM

The crown jewel of HBIMS. Our flagship 6-month intensive residential programme is the most comprehensive entry-level maritime training programme in India. Designed for young men and women who dream of a career at sea, the SDP combines academic excellence with real-world maritime skills, transforming complete beginners into confident, competent, and employable seafarers.

Unlike conventional maritime institutes that focus only on theoretical knowledge, the SDP takes a holistic approach โ€” training cadets in seamanship, engineering basics, safety protocols, physical endurance, swimming, English communication, personality development, interview preparation, and professional grooming. Every cadet receives a Sponsorship Letter from a reputed shipping company on Day 1 of training, guaranteeing their first onboard placement upon successful completion.

The programme is open to candidates aged 17.5โ€“25 years who have passed their 10th standard examination from any recognised board. No prior maritime experience, swimming ability, or technical background is required โ€” we teach everything from scratch. Cadets live on our campus in Bawal, Haryana for the entire 6 months, following a disciplined daily routine modelled on actual shipboard life.
